THE ORCHESTRA

The source of their world, formed from a tapestry of sorrow.

The Orchestra is a group of mysterious aliens that seek perfect order. Led by Zanu, they forgo their family names to show commitment to cutting past ties. They seek only the future, and will homogenize and purify all planets they come across in order to do so. They are the creators of Laud Sade.

Zanu

Age: 100 / Gender: None (Female-Presenting) / D.o.B: Unknown

The leader of The Orchestra and the purifier of worlds. Under Zanu’s order, The Orchestra aims to bring utopia to all, creating an equal, homogenized paradise. This often ends up being double-edged sword for the planets she invades; while it does often increase the quality of living for many, any deviation to the order put in place is not tolerated. A true utopia is established, with little to no individuality to cause conflict or strife. This is to preserve the harmony of all, with nothing able to crack the established social structure. Once the princess of the Claranician Empire, Zanu’s own world of Clea Runé was brought to an end in a flurry of chaos, and she could only watch as everything she knew crumbled around her. From then on, she vowed to strengthen all civilizations she came across so that event would never happen again.

Ciara

Age: Unknown / Gender: Female / D.o.B: Unknown

An enigmatic member of The Orchestra who looks surprisingly identical to Earth humans. As Earth had sent manned space expeditions out long ago, it’s possible that she could be one of their descendants, but none of those expeditions had ever relayed a message back to confirm their survival. She doesn’t remember her past, so as such, her history is unknown. This leads to somewhat of a camaraderie with Nora, who shares a similar lack of background. Ciara is the strongest of The Orchestra in terms of brute strength, and typically leads the front lines when a violent takeover of a planet is necessary. Though she seems largely disinterested in the details of achieveing The Orchestra’s goals and mostly just enjoys serving as their muscle, Ciara still pulls her weight when the need arises, leveling the playing field for utopia to arrive. She is, in fact, actually a Vector who utilizes plants to her advantage, indicating that Vectors are indeed found outside of Earth.

Elaza

Age: 107 / Gender: None (Female-Presenting) / D.o.B: Unknown

The head scientist for The Orchestra, knowledgeable on technology from many planets and civilizations. Once one of the most promising pupils of Claranicity’s School of Natural Sciences and specializing in geology, she shifted course to the technical sciences to advance Clea Rune’s status as a centralized planetary trading hub. After the destruction that rained down upon her planet, she used her knowledge to devise ships that would carry the remnants of her home to the utopia of the next world.

Machua

Age: 95 / Gender: None (Female-Presenting) / D.o.B: Unknown

Machua has trained hard ever since she was young thanks to her parents’ strict upbringing. In spite of their callousness, Machua wanted to use her tenacity to help others rise to their potential as well. She was a popular combat instructor for the Runean army, adept with many weapons and traditional martial arts from other planets. A call to order after her home was destroyed seemed like the perfect way to hone her discipline, and the notion of ridding herself of the past was just another weight off of her shoulders.

Rania

Age: 123 / Gender: None (Female-Presenting) / D.o.B: Unknown

An artist and architect that once used the woes of her home to create her masterpieces, but now uses the desire for utopia to create true harmony. A once visceral and vivid presence in her works gave way to precise, unfeeling safety to cull the terror she felt as her home was destroyed, leaving a pristine and unbreakable facade for all to shelter behind.

Nora

Age: Unknown / Gender: Female / D.o.B: Unknown

Nora is a quiet girl who sticks to herself, though she somewhat shares a camaraderie with Ciara due to both having hazy memories of their pasts. Like Ciara, she appears to be a different species than the rest of The Orchestra, though none of them know her origin. She appeared on Zanu’s planet one day, with nothing known about who or what she is. However, this past is irrelevant to their goals. Utilizing the shadows, trickery, and concealed weaponry, Nora is responsible for reconnaissance and assassination, dealing crippling blows to the leaders of all that resist The Orchestra’s perfect order.
